Summary
SiestaStop has no user account, no ads and no tracking. Your location only leaves your device in approximate form when you search for a stop.
Location data
While a trip is active, the app reads your location to calculate the distance to your chosen stop. This happens on your device only. Location data is not sent to us or third parties and is not stored permanently. When the trip ends, location tracking stops.
Stop search
For searching, your search term is sent to the Photon service of komoot GmbH (Germany), which provides OpenStreetMap data. If you have already granted location access, your approximate position is sent too so that nearby stops appear first. As with any internet connection, your IP address is transmitted. The komoot privacy policy applies.
In-app purchase (SiestaStop Plus)
For the optional purchase we use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA). Payment is handled by Apple or Google – we never receive payment details. RevenueCat processes a random, anonymous identifier of the app installation and purchase information to verify the purchase and restore it on new devices. The RevenueCat privacy policy applies.
Data stored on your device
Recently used stops, favorites, settings and the active trip are stored on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes this data.
Permissions
Location (while using the app) – to detect when you approach your stop. Notifications – for the wake-up alarm. No permanent “always” permission is required.
This website
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising services. Our hosting provider Cloudflare processes technically necessary data (e.g. IP address) to deliver and protect the site.
